It is one of 18 British railway stations managed by Network Rail, and is the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line. Euston is the main rail gateway from London to the West Midlands, the North West, North Wales and part of Scotland. It’s most important long-distance destinations are Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow.

We run, maintain and develop Britain’s tracks, signalling system, rail bridges, tunnels, level crossings, viaducts and 18 key stations.

Our Mission

When Network Rail took over the railway network in October 2002, we inherited a tired, worn-out infrastructure that had been starved of investment for many years.
Delivering for you
Network Rail represents a new beginning, a new vision and a new way of delivering Britain’s railway. We are investing in our workforce and introducing new technologies.

There are around 35,000 of us at Network Rail and we are working hard to improve every aspect of the railway. We have made enormous progress; Under our stewardship, the railway is already safer, more reliable and more efficient.

We are ambitious for the future of the railway and wish to grow the railway, meeting the demands and aspirations of rail users. Our task now is to build on the progress we have made so that we can transform Britain’s railway into a world-class infrastructure.

How we measure up

The number of trains on time has risen dramatically since we have been running Britain’s railway.

These figures show how the improvements we have been making to the railway are having a positive impact for passengers across Britain, by getting more of their trains on time.

This is known as Public Performance Measurement (PPM), and measures the percentage of trains which arrive at their destination on time.

In the table below we have shown the average Public Performance Measurement for Britain as a whole, and by train operating company calculated over the 364 days.
